On International Women’s Day, we want to take a special moment to introduce the incredible women who bring the Ana Autoestima project to life. These women are not just collaborators; they are the driving force behind our mission to empower and educate other women about health, sexuality, and well-being. Their impact on the project is profound, just as the project has a significant impact on their personal and professional lives.
Evelyn Cristina Nunes Dos Santos is a fighter who has been striving to improve her life and that of her four children since she was 13 years old. As a co-creator of Ana Autoestima, Evelyn is a driving force in organizing in-person events and conducting impact research on our approach to sexual education. For her, Ana's content "shows that, as women, we can be independent and victorious." Her passion and commitment to sexuality education have inspired other women to discover their own pleasure and agency.
Fernanda Cabral Bonato, a psychologist and sexuality educator, contributes by creating and reviewing content about sexual wellbeing and pleasure. For Fernanda, the work of Ana Autoestima is crucial for women to know their bodies better and experience sexuality in a healthy and pleasurable way, something she believes is transformative.
Geovana Zaltman, a translator, subtitler, and editor, curates the content for the @ana.autoestima.br profile and creates audio-visual animations of Ana's educational videos, as well as editing the content of Ana's diverse content. With her keen eye for inclusive language, Geovana ensures that everyone can relate to Ana's materials. She views the project as a way to "normalize these topics" and encourage the exchange of ideas among women, changing how they see themselves and relate to their sexuality.
Jacqueline Cruz, a Black woman, psychologist by training, and social activist, sees Ana Autoestima as a "powerful space for exchange, learning, and support" where women can openly discuss their experiences and doubts, contributing to the creation of a mutual support network. She is a key event facilitator as well as the main focus group facilitator.
Jaciara Moreira, a journalist and social communicator, was the first communications manager in Ana Autoestima's WhatsApp groups. Jaciara helped pave the way for user engagement management and believes that Ana's content "leads to reflection and creates a repertoire" for women to confidently discuss their rights.
Jéssica Mayra Ferreira, a pelvic floor practitioner, supports Ana Autoestima in creating and reviewing content about contraception and sexual health for people with uteruses. Her clinical experience has been essential in ensuring that Ana's scripts are not only informative but also safe and reliable. Jéssica highlights the importance of offering a trustworthy reference because "many people receive their sexual education through pornography," and Ana provides a safe and accessible alternative.
Juliana Matassoli is one of the creative minds behind Ana Autoestima's visual content. With her background in advertising and experience in digital marketing, Juliana transforms scripts into educational videos that promote essential debates about sexual health. She believes that Ana "generates the necessary confidence for more and more women to defend themselves and overcome violence."
Laura Ramos Tomás, founder of TabuTabu and co-creator of Ana Autoestima, has worked at the intersection of social inequality, gender violence, and education for over eight years. She sees Ana Autoestima as a reminder that "women have rights, that their voices matter, and that they deserve to be respected." Laura works towards ensuring that Ana's safe and informative spaces continues to grow and positively impact the lives of many more women.
Luciana Monteiro, a journalist with over five years of experience in philanthropy-focused communication, acts as a facilitator at events and producer of audiovisual content. Luciana sees Ana Autoestima as "a safe space for women to talk about anything," a welcoming environment she helps build and facilitate at in-person events.
Lucilene Azevedo, a nail technician and social mobilizer, was one of the initial developers of the project. For Lucilene, Ana Autoestima "helps women get to know themselves better," knowledge she views as essential for building self-esteem and confidence.
Luana Nunes dos Santos, recently graduated as a Nursing Technician, brings a strategic perspective to the project's development and acts as an event facilitator. Luana believes that Ana helps women "get to know and connect with themselves," a connection that has been fundamental for strengthening self-esteem and well-being.
Manoela Menandro, an administrative assistant and consultant on diversity and inclusion, believes that Ana Autoestima "offers in support, healthy exchanges of information, and peer education," contributing to content that reflects the diversity of women’s experiences and realities.
Nayara da Conceição Fausto is a Black woman, mother, and daughter, and a mental health nurse with a career dedicated to the public health system (SUS). As our consultant on public health policies, Nayara brings her extensive experience to Ana Autoestima’s content. She believes the videos "demystify many things, primarily promoting access." This access, in turn, has allowed many women to find a safe space to learn and empower themselves.
Nina Millen, a talented illustrator, brings the Ana Autoestima character and campaign materials to life, creating a friendly and uncomplicated environment. Nina believes that this welcoming atmosphere makes all the difference, allowing women to express their doubts without inhibition.
Thamyres Zanirati, a doctor and sexuality specialist, supports the creation of content about anatomy and sexual function, offering her expertise on topics that require greater support from the healthcare system. Thamyres sees Ana as a platform that normalizes access to knowledge and the right to pleasure, something she considers essential for social equity.
These women are the strength and life behind Ana Autoestima, bringing their energy and passion to every aspect of the project. At the same time, they also grow stronger and transform through this initiative, demonstrating that when women unite, they can change the world around them, starting with themselves.
